CORE STRENGTH PHYSIO-LED GROUP CLASSES
Discover our specialised clinical mat-based Pilates classes, designed for all ages and fitness levels.
Strong Hearts ( Cardiac )
A 1 hour group exercise class that includes a combination of resistance & cardio exercises. Suited for the following people
All classes are monitored or delivered by a health professional (Exercise Physiologist, Physiotherapist or Dietitian) and include a maximum of 8 people per class
• High Cholesterol
 • Bypass surgery or stents
 • Heart attack
 • Stable angina (chest pain)
 • Heart failure
 • Other cardiac surgery including valve replacement or valve dysfunction and pacemaker insertion
 • Other patients who may benefit from structured exercise and/or education based on physician referral and consensus of the rehabilitation team

Strong Bones (Strength & Balance)
A 1hr Group based circuit including a combination of aerobic training, upper & lower body strength exercises (to improve muscular endurance) as well as static, dynamic & functional balance exercises.
All classes are monitored or delivered by a health professional (Exercise Physiologist, Physiotherapist or Dietitian) and include a maximum of 8 people per class
• Elderly
 • Muscle wastage (atrophy/sarcopenia)
 • Low bone density (Osteoporosis/osteopenia)
 • History of falls or at risk of a fall
 • Heart failure Severe osteoarthritis (not needing weight loss)
 • Heart failure Neurological conditions such as Multiple sclerosis, Parkinson
 • Cancer (to help reduce fatigue, improve bone density, help tolerate chemo & improve overall health)
 • For general strength gains and to improve balance

Strong Bodies (Weight Loss & Diabetes)
A 1 hour interval circuit class which will include a combination of strength and cardio exercises designed to help burn energy and aid weight loss. The program includes 2 x 1hour education session with our Dietitian Nikki Casini
All classes are monitored or delivered by a health professional (Exercise Physiologist, Physiotherapist or Dietitian) and include a maximum of 8 people per class

Babes On Board Classes
FEEL GREAT FROM THE INSIDE OUT WITH THESE CLASSES FOR YOU AND YOUR BABY.
Babes on Board Pre and Post natal classes have been running for 15 years. Gill Wright brings her years of experience working in a variety of maternity hospitals across Melbourne and her post-graduate specialist Women’s health exercise qualifications
together to create a fun, safe and all round great exercise class.
Gill is passionate about enabling women to exercise and is skilled at modifying and accommodating any pregnancy issues and problems.

Core Strength Physio-Led Group Classes
Our mat-based physio-led group classes are taking bookings for Term 3, 2024. Our classes go beyond traditional exercises, incorporating evidence-based techniques to enhance core stability, improve posture, and promote overall wellness. Assessments are required before partaking in the group classes for all New Participants.
- Target stabilising muscles in the body to improve core strength and joint stability.
- Low-impact exercises crafted to enhance body awareness, co-ordination, balance, and posture, while alleviating discomfort and stiffness.
- 3 different Core Strength Physio Group Classes offered at Pelvic Strength Physiotherapy:
General Group Classes
- Small group floor-based exercise classes. (limited to 6 in a group)
- Suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
- Suitable for participants with poor structure, weak abdominal muscles, weak pelvic floor muscles, mild-moderate pelvic organ prolapse, chronic neck or back pain (and many other conditions).
Pregnancy Group Classes
- Small group classes specifically designed for women during pregnancy.
- Floor-based exercises performed on mats and fit balls.
- Suitable throughout all stages of pregnancy.
Postnatal Group Classes
- Small group classes specifically designed for women who have recently had a baby.
- Floor-based exercises performed on mats and fit balls with small equipment like hand weights, stability balls and foam rollers.
- Suitable from 6 weeks after childbirth and babies are welcome.
Pelvic Floor Focus Classes
- Suitable for all fitness levels.
- Specifically designed to strengthen pelvic floor muscles.
- Aims to prevent vaginal prolapse, urinary and bowel leakage, and lower back pain.
- Enhances sexual function, core strength, and overall well-being.
- Promotes improved pelvic floor health through targeted exercises.
15-Minute Pelvic Floor Screening
- Uses real-time abdominal ultrasound diagnostics (non-invasive).
- Assesses pelvic floor muscle activation.
- Provides personalised feedback for muscle improvement.
- Essential for understanding correct pelvic floor engagement.
- Complements Pilates classes for optimised results.
Active Seniors Classes
- Modified Pilates class tailored for individuals over 70*.
- Includes exercises adapted for mat or supported sitting.
- Focuses on enhancing flexibility, balance, and core strength.
- Promotes overall health and mobility.
- Open to individuals with limited movement due to disability, age, or health issues; assessment recommended.

Pelvic Floor Focus Class
Our new ‘Pelvic floor focus class’ is suitable for all fitness levels and has been designed to specifically strengthen your pelvic floor to help prevent vaginal prolapse, urinary and bowel leakage, and lower back pain.
It also enhances sexual function, core strength, and general well-being.

15-Minute Pelvic Floor Screening
Am I correctly contracting my pelvic floor? This is a very common question our clients ask!
Discover the importance of pelvic floor screening. Our 15-minute screening tool uses real-time abdominal ultrasound diagnostics (not internal) to assess your pelvic floor for correct activation and feedback for you to fine-tune your muscles during your pilates class.
Active Seniors Class
Have you thought about joining Pilates but felt you may not be able to keep up? This class is for you! Our modified class is specifically designed for individuals over 70*.
This gentle, low-impact class comprises exercises that are modified for mat or supported sitting and focus on improving flexibility, balance, and core strength, promoting overall health and mobility.
*This class is not exclusive to seniors. If you have limited movement due to disability, age, or health-related issues, this class may be perfect for you. Please book in for an assessment before booking this class.
